Yum
Fufufu, crab dumplings are fabulous!
It was my first time to make Chinese dumplings.. Even my families are Chinese, nobody knows how to make these dumplings. Then I browsed on the Internet and found some recipes. The recipes are kinda complicated, so I tried to make the simple one.. And I got it! (And the ingredients itself are so cheap!)
imitation crab sticks. great colour and taste
Crab Dumpling

Dough:
  • 3/4 cup (175 ml) flour
  • 45 ml warm water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Flavouring (optional)
  • Food colouring (optional)
Now the fillings:
  • 4-5 sticks of imitation crab, boiled and diced
  • Plenty carrots, diced
  • Dried seaweed, cut into tiny stripes
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Fish Sauce (Anchovy or Worcestershire Sauce, never mind)
How:
  1. Mix flour, 20 ml of water and flavouring. After some strokes, pour the left water and mix until it's moldable. Place it under damp cloth for 10 minutes.
  2. Mix crab, carrots, seaweed, salt, sugar, and sauce.
  3. Flatten the dough very, very flat and cut into 7 x 7 cm square. Put the fillings, and fold. (You'll know how to fold it short after some trials). You could give a little food colouring on the folded dumplings.
  4. Steam for 8-12 minutes.
